20 Thoughts God Has About You

amyjraber

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand!” Psalms 139:17-18

It is estimated that there are 1 million grains of sand in a square foot. Siesta Key Beach in Florida has 66,908,160 square feet of sand. And that’s just one beach in the entire world. That’s A LOT of sand which means that’s A LOT of thoughts God has about us!

On an Instagram post recently I challenged my followers to find 5-10 thoughts God has of them. Todd White puts it so well; “If you got possessed by 10,20,30 + true thoughts that represent God’s goodness, that your mind continually goes back to during the day, you wouldn’t have time to think about the thoughts the enemy is bringing.”

Here are just 20 of these thoughts God has for us.

1. Love

“But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead.” Ephesians 2:4-5

2. Chosen

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous- how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book.” Psalm 139:13-16

“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart…” Jeremiah 1:5

3. Friend

“For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.” Romans 5:10-11

4. His children

“But to all who believed and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn-not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.” John 1:12-13

“See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!” 1 John 1:1

5. Heir

“And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory.” Romans 8:17

6. Called

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.” Romans 8:28-30

7. Apple of his eye

“Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes. Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.” Psalm 17:7-8

8. Valuable

“This is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life-whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? “ Matthew 6:25-26

“And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” Matthew 10:30-31

9. Prized Possession

“He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.” James 1:18

10. Righteous

“Put on your new nature, created to be like God-truly righteous and holy. “Ephesians 4:24

“For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

11. Holy

“God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin. “1 Corinthians 1:30

12. Designed for good works

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10

13. Accepted

“Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.” Romans 15:7

14. Image bearer

“So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27

15. Precious

“How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand!” Psalms 139:17-18

16. Fearfully and wonderfully made

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14

17. Priceless

“Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? “ Romans 8:32

18. Takes pleasure in us

“He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might. No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.” Psalms 147:10-11

19. Perfect

“But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. There he waits until his enemies are humbled and made a footstool under his feet. For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.” Hebrews 10:12-14

20. Complete in him

“For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. “Colossians 2:9-10
