Let Your Gifts Fuel Your Purpose

Do you have some things that you are just naturally good at? Things that come easily to you and you are shocked when you realize it’s not natural or even easy for someone else?

I want you to stop reading right now and write out a list of what these things are.

Now look over the list and feel a sense of awe at who your Father has made you to be. He specifically chose you to have those gifts. You aren’t good at these things accidentally, while your friend isn’t.

“We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it!” Ephesians 2:10 TPT

How Can You Use These Gifts?

1. Recognize if there is a gifting you aren’t currently using and start using it in some way.

When you look over your list, if you have a gifting that you aren’t using I want to challenge you to start using it in some way.

“Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others. For we know that we will receive a reward, an inheritance from the Lord, as we serve the Lord Yahweh, the Anointed One!” Colossians 3:23-24 TPT

2. Pray and seek ways you can use the gifts you are currently using, or those you aren’t using, for others and the kingdom.

The key here is to use your gifts for others + God’s kingdom. This is why God gave them to us, so we can serve others, and in doing so bring God glory.

“Every believer has received grace gifts, so use them to serve one another as faithful stewards of the many-colored tapestry of God’s grace. For example, if you have a speaking gift, speak as though God were speaking his words through you. If you have the gift of serving, do it passionately with the strength God gives you, so that in everything God alone will be glorified through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 4:10-11 TPT

3. Put aside your dreams and pick up His. His will always be better.

“So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose.” Romans 8:28 TPT

“A person may have many ideas concerning God’s plan for his life, but only the designs of his purpose will succeed in the end.” Proverbs 19:21 TPT

4. If others don’t celebrate your giftings don’t squash them.

People can never reject your gifts because they never gave them to you, God did. He will never reject those gifts because he gave them to you and it would go against his character.

“Every gift God freely gives us is good and perfect, streaming down from the Father of lights, who shines from the heavens with no hidden shadow or darkness and is never subject to change. God was delighted to give us birth by the truth of his infallible Word so that we would fulfill his chosen destiny for us and become the favorite ones out of all his creation!” James 1:17-18 TPT

Your purpose is not just your job, not just your role as a wife or mother, not just your ministry, not just your career path, but to bring God glory while serving others in ALL you do.

Everything you have been blessed with and given in your day to day life is part of your purpose. Using your gifts to do each of these things to the best of your ability will help you steward well the unique, special gifts God has given only to you!

Be fully you, no matter what. Use and celebrate your gifts fully, and bring God glory!
