Working out at home is not only convenient but also a time saver. I’ve been working out at home for years now and have taught countless other women to do the same. I was a personal trainer before my second baby.
I want to share with you three essentials you need to get started with working out at home.
1. Weights
You may not need weights for the first couple weeks but after a couple weeks you will want to start incorporating some weights in order to help your muscles start growing.
Muscles growth = weight loss
If you plan on sticking to home workouts my recommendation is the power block because you don’t have to keep buying dumbbells every time the weights starts getting easier. I’ve had mine for years now and absolutely love them!

2. Resistance bands
Resistance bands allow you to hit specific muscles in a different way then weights do. For example, you can do band pull aparts and have constant tension on the muscle and you wouldn’t get that with free weights.

You can also do a standing chest press without needing a bench. So it allows you less equipment and more exercise options.

Not only that, you will be applying more resistance at certain parts of the movement allowing for better stimulating strength gains.
Another benefit is the stability and core work required to do movements with a resistance band.
3. Jump rope
This isn’t a necessity but it does help you switch up the cardio in your workout routines. Plus jumping rope is super effective and a total body exercise.
Working out at home is super easy with minimal equipment and can still get you the results you see from gym workouts.
Tell me, do you workout at home and if so what tips do you have for the other mamas reading?
